twenty two weeks

This week was bittersweet. Uncle Michael had to go back to Afghanistan on Tuesday and we all went to the airport to see him off. I can’t imagine having to say goodbye to your daddy while you’re so tiny. I can’t imagine going through this process without him at all. Before he left, auntie Em and I took baby duty one night so he and aunt KiKi could get some sleep. As exhausting as it was, I think I really learned a lot and am glad we did it. I love taking care of her and watching her funny facial expressions.

Nonie and I did some more shopping for your nursery and finally found fabric I love…at the local Hobby Lobby, go figure. We found a bunch of accessories for your room so now I just need to get your crib painted and find a dresser. She’s giving us a rocker she used with your daddy and uncle Chris, which I’m really excited us use. I can’t wait to get the room painted and start putting all of this together.

I’ve noticed you’ve been sleeping a lot lately, not moving so much. But when you do, it’s more of a roll or something. I get this big tight bulge on my side, and then you roll over and it goes away. You kick more towards the end of the day and when I get into bed. Daddy like to hold my tummy and wait for you to move. It’s really cute. 🙂

How far along? 22 weeks, 5 days
Total weight gain? 8 lbs at my 20 week appointment
Maternity clothes? just the belly band still
Stretch marks? nope
Sleep: good! I miss sleeping on my stomach, but the body pillow is helping 🙂
Best moment this week: seeing aubree’s sweet face
Miss anything? drinking coffee as much as I used to and sleeping on my stomach
Movement: just lots of rolls and some kicking around in the evening
Food cravings: weird, but I’ve wanted ice cream for the longest time, but have not bought any when I’m at the store. I opted for yogurt delights instead…not too shabby.
Anything making you queasy or sick: not yet, but I got a whiff of daddy’s energy drink this morning and had to push it away from me. weird.
Gender: still a girl 🙂
Labor signs: none
Symptoms: heartburn galore!
Belly button in or out? in, but still incredibly shallow. I took out my belly ring and now I have to look at these awesome holes.
Wedding rings on or off? on and I plan to keep them there
Happy or Moody? happy!
Looking forward to: gettin’ crackin’ on your room!
