happy valentine’s day!

This Valentine’s was extra sweet. I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that this is the last “just the two of us” Valentine’s. Actually, I do that a lot lately…think about all the things that will soon be very different for us. Like how I don’t like stuff everywhere, but our home will soon be filled with a ton of baby things. Everywhere. Like how daddy and I snuggle in the mornings and lay there talking about whatever, but soon we’ll be suuuper tired and jumping up to get you. I’ll miss our random trips to Tutti Frutti (the yogurt shop down the street you’ll love too as soon as I can introduce you to it) and our lazy weekend mornings making breakfast together. But it also makes me really happy. Happy that we had a good three “just the two of us” years being married. Happy knowing that even though a lot is going to change, we wanted you at just this time in our lives and in just a few months you’ll be here!

So, anyhoo back to valentine’s day… We went to dinner at Outback and splurged on the chocolate oreo waffles with ice cream for dessert. OMG, it was delish. Daddy sent 3 roses to my office (something he never does because I don’t like him spending the money). Two red roses (one for him, one for me) and a pink one for you 🙂 with a tag that read “…from Dad and baby Elliette.” Looks like we’ve decided on your name! I’m so happy I could cry. It’s something I’ve been stressing over for a while. I’m not sure on the spelling just yet… Eliot, Elliet. I do NOT want people to say Ellie-ette so I’m kinda leaning toward losing the -ette on the end. Daddy also got me a new ride and girl, we get to roll in style! It’s a pretty snazzy mommy mo-beele if I do say so myself. It has heated seats, a third row seat and an automatic lift thingy on the back door. I love it!

We had our 24 week doctor appointment this week. I know, I know, Valentine’s was last week and I’ve been working on this post for way too long. A lot’s been going on and I’ve been really tired the past few days. Sorry. Daddy snapped this picture while we were waiting for the doctor. They say I’ve gained 14lbs, but I seriously doubt this is true. All my clothes fit the same. I can’t button my pants, but they fit just the same everywhere else. At my very first doctor appointment they weighted me at 114lbs. Um, thank you, but I haven’t been that little in a LONG time. I typically hover right around 120 so I think their scale was off. Whatever, I can’t go back and request a new scale now so 14lbs it is!

How far along? 24 weeks, 3 days
Total weight gain? 14lbs, but I…ugh, just see previous paragraph

Stretch marks? none yet and I’m slathering on the tummy butter/lotion like it’s keeping me alive!
Best moment this week? seeing my belly move when you kick
Miss anything? cold beer. don’t judge, it’s crawfish season.
Movement: I can tell when you’re sleeping and when you wake up. There’s lots of movement when you wake up You must’ve had a party in my belly yesterday morning around 7am. God help me if you’re a morning person like your daddy.
